Lancashire County Council have advised the Parish Council of the following temporary road closures

In reply to a query regarding when Walmsley Road will be re-opened, LCC have replied

This is a complex issue and has required a number of different assessments to be carried out on site. One such assessment the Preliminary Ecological Assessment (PEA) highlighted a number of potential ecological issues that need to be address as part of the planning application for the scheme. This includes requirements for a number of additional surveys, mitigation plans and method statements. These will be progressed concurrently with the detailed design of the scheme, however the time required to resolve these issues is somewhat of an unknown. Please be assured that we are committed to undertaking the works, I just cannot provide a commencement date at this time. I will ask the team looking after the project to review the temporary signage in the area and ensure that they remain relevant until all the works are complete.
